JUNE 6, 2011—SAN JUAN, PR—The P.F. Chang’s restaurant chain begins operations in Puerto Rico by starting the construction of its first restaurant on the Island at Plaza Las Americas. The restaurant will be located on the first level, between the Main Entrance and the entrance between Borders and West Elm, with access to the interior directly from the parking lot. It is expected that the restaurant will open its doors to the public in November of this year.
“We are very excited about the opening of P.F. Chang’s China Bistro in Puerto Rico with their first restaurant opening its doors at Plaza Las Americas. We feel we have found the perfect combination between an excellent space in terms of visibility, accessibility and convenience with a concept that responds to the requests of many Puerto Ricans that know the concept well and have been eagerly awaiting its arrival. P.F. Chang’s opens in Puerto Rico in response to the existing demand for high quality Chinese food at affordable prices. All this coupled with excellent service and a unique environment that will guarantee an exceptional experience,” as indicated by Artur Jotic, President of International Restaurant Services, Inc.
“P.F. Chang’s Bistro arrives at Plaza Las Americas in response to one of the most frequently requested retailers by our customers, and also as the result of many years of interest and many months of conversations and negotiations with the local franchisee as well as with the chain itself,” as highlighted by Rafael Ruiz-Comas, Corporate Leasing Director for Plaza Las Americas. “We are happy that P.F. Chang’s comes to PLAZA by the hand of International Restaurant Services, Inc., with whom we have had an excellent working relationship for many years and we acknowledge their high standards of excellence when it comes to service and commitment to their customers,” concluded Ruiz-Comas. Now, P.F. Chang’s joins the more than 300 stores at the shopping center, as part of the select group of stores that can be found “Only at PLAZA.”
The restaurant will occupy a space of a little over 8,000 square feet and will have its own valet parking station for its customers’ convenience. We expect the opening to generate around 200 new jobs.
P.F. Chang’s Bistro opened its first restaurant in 1993 in Scottsdale, Arizona and takes its name from the combination of its founders’ names, Paul Fleming and Phillip Chiang. The chain directly operates its more than 200 in the United States and y has franchisees in East Canada, Mexico, the Middle East, the Philippines and now Puerto Rico.
