Plaza Las Americas hosts the first Child Care Fair


Focusing on the proper care and well being of children

San Juan, Puerto Rico – For the first time, Plaza Las Americas celebrates the Child Care Fair, an event focused on children’s well being with everything there is to know for parents and entertainment for the Little Ones. The fair will take place from July 18 through the 24th and will showcase activities such as: presentations by children entertainment companies, music, games and seminars.

The shopping center’s first level will set the stage for the child related exhibiting companies offering their products and/or services to the thousands of visitors that gather at PLAZA on a daily basis. Among the types of companies invited to participate in the event there are: child care centers, specialized schools, educational toys distributors, child entertainment companies, child nutrition specialists and even kids furniture distributors.

There will be a full calendar of daily activities on stage at Grand Court. Kids will enjoy children’s music, games, movies and many other activities. Luis Antonio Cosme will present his book “Cocina fácil para niños,” for kids to learn some quick and simple recipees. Afternoons will be dedicated to storytelling at La hora  del cuento, for kids and adults to enjoy children’s stories narrated by different personalities such as: children’s entertainer Sandra Zaiter, who will be reading to our visitors on Wednesday, July 20 and Saturday, July 23rd. Clowns and other popular children characters will be seen around the mall during the week.

Parents will also benefit from the activities on stage, for there will be exercise demonstrations, seminars on health and nutrition for future Moms and their children, on how to properly care for your kids and other interesting topics for the general well being of all children.

“The Child Care Fair has been created and produced primarily in thinking about the welfare of our children.  We want to showcase a variety of safe alternatives/activities for kids where they can themselves play the leading role.  There will be a variety of orientations for parents to learn about different organizations that provide specialized services for kids. All families and family members can participate of the event. We hope our visitors enjoy the fair, and especially that parents and kids can benefit of all the resources we have gathered for their well being,” as expressed by Sarah Colomer, Plaza Las Americas’ Fairs and Exhibits Department Director.
